The goal is to make gift giving easy and fun, even for last-minute shoppers. The key to success is a unique inventory, products that are available to ship immediately, nice site design, intuitive site organization and gift recommendations for almost anyone. The place to find all this and more is RedEnvelope.com.
Formerly known as 911gifts.com, the site relaunched in Oct. 1999 as RedEnvelope.com. To expand on its theme of helping last-minute shoppers find creative gifts, RedEnvelope.com set out to create a unique selection of products to fit most every taste. From jewelry to gift baskets to desk accessories, shoppers can find something for everyone here.
The site is divided in four ways to help even the most clueless shopper. Users can choose to shop by occasion, recipient, lifestyle or category. When shopping by occasion, customers can choose from 15 occasions including Valentine's Day, Birthday, Getting Married, New Baby and Just Because. Those shopping by recipient have 12 options including For Him, For Her, For Couple and For Business Associate, and those shopping by lifestyle have 12 options as well including The Connoisseur, The Gadget Guru and The Gourmet. Customers can also browse RedEnvelope.com's 15 shops, which include Jewelry & Accessories, What's New and Office & Travel.
Customers shopping at RedEnvelope.com can also browse the company's recent catalogs or search the site by product and price range or by item number. Last-minute shoppers need not worry: RedEnvelope.com has an express gifts section for those who need the gift the following day. All items in that section will ship the same day if they are ordered by midnight eastern time Monday through Friday. The site also has a corporate gifts section, which has eight categories including Gourmet Baskets, Bar + Wine + Cigars and Executive Toys. There's even a customer service help line and e-mail for those who need help selecting the right corporate gift.
Besides help for corporate gift shoppers, the site provides phone, e-mail and live chat customer service as well as pages of information about ordering, shipping, returns and privacy. Customers can even set up personal calendar and use the gift reminder service if they set up a RedEnvelope.com account.
